The Colombian Navy in a joint river control operation with the National Army, arrested two alleged members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, when they were traveling on a boat on the Atrato River in the department of Chocó.
River units of the Colombian Navy that were carrying out operations in the sector of Puerto Rico - department of Chocó, identified the ship and proceeded to make a call for it to stop, however, the individuals ignored and escaped.
Immediately, the pursuit began on the river to intercept the boat finding inside alias El Paisa, head of the finance group of the Carlos Vázquez substructure of the GAO Clan del Golfo and another individual, who apparently would have six years in this criminal organization.
During the inspection, a nine-millimeter caliber pistol, a magazine, 25 cartridges for it, a shoe-type fiber canoe and about 10 million pesos were seized, apparently product of extortions carried out on the sector.
The material and the individuals were put into custody of the Quibdó Sectional Prosecutor's Office - department of Chocó, to face charges for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.
