After coordinated and interagency joint work, it was possible to capture 43 individuals belonging to the Organized Armed Group (GAO) Clan del Golfo.
During the operations, which were carried out simultaneously in the municipalities of Carmen de Bolívar, María la Baja, San Jacinto, Macayepo and Magangué, members of the Colombian Air Force, the National Army, the Colombian Navy, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, captured 4 ringleaders and 39 individuals of the GAO Clan del Golfo, who belonged to the substructure Héroes del Caribe, who would be responsible for the crimes of extortion, selective homicide and intimidation, in the area of the Montes de María.
For this operation, more than 300 men of the Military Forces and the Police were deployed, who had been carrying out follow-up work, which led to the whereabouts of these individuals. During the operation, the Colombian Air Force made available different aircraft that supported the troops on the ground.
