Heavy blow to the residual GAO support network, Fifth Group Dagoberto Ramos

cogfm-ejercito-nacional-propina-golpe-a-red-de-apoyo-gao-residual-comision-quinta-dagoberto-ramos-08.jpg

The individuals known as Guasón, Cucho, Tocayo and Tio were arrested operations in Algeciras and Saladoblanco in the department of Huila and in San Luis, in Tolima.

Months of investigation and follow-up work led the justice to issue the arrest warrants and their materialization was possible, putting four alleged members of the support network of the residual structures of the fifth group of the mobile column Dagoberto Ramos in custody of the local authorities.

This important operation was carried out with troops of the Ninth and Sixth Brigade, as well as with officials of the Prosecutor's Office Delegated to the Court, attached to the Special Investigation Unit.

The individuals known as Guasón, Cucho, Tocayo and Tio were wanted for the alleged crimes of trafficking, manufacture, carrying firearms and ammunition, aggravated homicide and association to commit crimes.

Those arrested, in addition to be the alleged responsible for conducting criminal intelligence for the execution of extortion activities for strengthening the financial scaffolding of the group, would have participated in selective assassinations of social leaders and former members of the FARC.

It is a joint and inter-institutional work that leads the Military Forces to ratify the military control in Huila and its surrounding areas. It was in the same way possible to neutralize the plans for territorial expansion and consolidation of mobility routes and weaken these illegal organizations in terms of number of men with criminal experience.

In the same way, it contributes to the security and protection of civilians and their property, in the departments of Cauca and Huila, regions historically hit by violence and crime.
