Heavy blows to structure of the residual Organized Armed Group of the Front 29 in Nariño

Nariño. In the framework of the Military and Police campaign "ATLAS", in a joint and coordinated operation conducted by the Army, Navy and National Police, through the Hercules Consolidation and Stabilization Task Force and the Poseidon Task Force, it was possible to give an important blow against the residual Organized Armed Group of the Front 29, commanded by alias 'Zábalo'.

 

The operation took place in the municipality of Cumbitara, department of Nariño. Troops obtained the recovery of a 16-year-old minor of age who had been recruited by force and the discovery of war material, including a rifle 5.56mm, 01 revolver, 09 grenades 40mm, 05 magazines for rifle caliber 5.56mm, 03 fragmentation grenades, 16 cartridges caliber 9 mm, 41 cartridges caliber 38 mm, 28 cartridges caliber 7.62, 307 cartridges caliber 5.56, 02 communication radios and 05 antennas for portable radios.

 

According to investigations work, the criminal modality of this criminal organization consisted in selective homicides and extortion in the southwest of the country.

 

This intervention procedure was accompanied by electronic intelligence that led to clarify ties of alias 'Zábalo' with drug trafficking with some cocaine laboratories and the forced recruitment of minors of age.
