"Serving with honor and courage the people of Arauca" is the motto of these heroes, being their only interest the glory of our country. With absolute faith in God and “faith in the cause”, the soldiers, who although do not know you, are willing to give their lives for you and your family.
Arauca. Day and night, regardless of the inclement weather or terrain, men at the service of the country leave their families, wives and children to reach their new destinations: departments, municipalities, hamlets, and populated centers of the national territory, places where they carried out their noble constitutional mission.
Heroes with “llanero” heart
Deployed all over this department, the National Army carries out different integration events with the civilian population. This year, around 2,000 activities such as cinema to the park, maintenance of parks and monuments, visits to geriatric centers, schools, etc., have been carried out in the seven municipalities of Arauca, the municipality of Cubará, in Boyacá and the municipality of Samoré, and Toledo, Norte de Santander, thanks to the articulated work conducted by the public and private institutions.
On the other hand, the humanitarian operation carried out by the soldiers in this area of the country is invaluable. During the winter wave which hits part of the National territory, from May to date, around 4,726 families were evacuated and timely taken care of by our Horus soldiers.
In addition, to ensure the wellbeing of the inhabitants of Arauca, the heroes dressed in honor are responsible for ensuring the safety and tranquility of the community that moves on the roads of the Plains region, with 24 checkpoints, strategically located to support each travel. They have achieved not only the safety of travelers, but in the same way significant results to combat smuggling.
