In an unprecedented operation in the last four years, National Army troops found 8683 kilograms of marijuana and one kilogram of cocaine hydrochloride of the Hernando González Acosta criminal structure of the Isaías Pardo Central Bloc, under the criminal control of alias Ivan Mordisco.
The military operation was carried out by soldiers of the 26th Cacique Pigoanza Infantry Battalion and the 6th Light Cavalry Group, in coordination with the Anti-Narcotics Police, in which they seized the cargo destined for countries in the south of the continent.
The narcotic found when being marketed outside the country, would have reached an estimated cost of more than 11,000 million pesos (approximately USD 2.7 million), tripling its price compared to the Colombian domestic market.
The finding represents the elimination of more than 8 million individual doses of marijuana, preventing its circulation in international micro-trafficking networks.
The cargo was found hidden among hay bales inside a truck, abandoned by its driver when he noticed the military operations in the village Panorama, municipality of La Plata, department of Huila.
According to the investigations, the narcotic was coming from the department of Cauca and would be transported through routes in the south of the country with a final destination in South America.
This result strengthens the national operation against illegal activities and reaffirms the commitment of Colombian National Army to regional security, the protection of the inhabitants and the weakening of armed structures outlaw.
