The National Government in coordination with the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management-UNGRD with the support of the Military Forces provided necessary assistance to support the island in the emergency following the hurricane Iota in the Islands of San Andr茅s, Providencia and Santa Catalina.

The Colombian Air Force, through the military transport Air Command (CATAM), has arranged its Hercules C-130 and Cassa C-295 aircraft to carry out the rapid and timely transport of humanitarian aid to be distributed to the inhabitants of the islands.

Since Monday, November 16, the Air Force has received more than 80 tons of cargo consisting of Mats, food and toilet kits, tents, rooftiles, drinking water and other items required by island residents after overcoming the powerful cyclone that reached Category 5, the highest on the scale.

In an effort against the clock, the Colombian Air Force has sent its aircraft, crews, soldiers and civilian personnel to carry out efficiently and effectively the transport of these aid, keeping high the commitment to help Colombians when they need it most, bringing hope in the midst of this difficult situation.
