With the aim of carrying out coordinated operations to prevent and reduce as much as possible the crimes of extortion and kidnapping, the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) has been carrying out and strengthening prevention activities throughout the country.
To this end, the Unified operation Groups for Personal Freedom, GAULA (ANTI-EXTORTION AND ANTI-KIDNAPPING GROUP) have been carrying out various Prevention activities throughout the country, whose mission is to implement strategies, educational campaigns and other activities that led a rapprochement with people in which they can present the prevention mechanisms to prevent being victims of these crimes.
This is how during 2023, the 32 Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) units have carried out 114,937 activities throughout the national geography, 16,359 people have received the 121 workshops given, 96 talks on radio stations have been broadcasted, 10,297 messages have been radio transmitted, 78,364 brochures distributed with the 147 national line, 186 checkpoints, 1,083 Plan Presencia activities, 98 informative stands, 5,256 posters installed and 135 day and night loudspeaker activities have been conducted.
What are we looking for with this? The creation of a culture of self-protection in every Colombian, regardless of their race, economical level or profession, because the freedom and heritage of citizens is the raison d'être of the Military Guala, that is why schools, productive groups, public and private companies, media, trade sector and areas which have been beaten by criminals, have been visited daily.
These activities are part of the inter-institutional campaign I don't pay, I denounce, which is executed in conjunction with the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the National Police and directly focused on countering behaviors that attack personal freedom.
For his part, the National Director of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), Colonel Giovanni Montañez Acosta, sends a greeting to the citizens, inviting them to report these crimes in a timely manner and to trust the men and women of these units who have differential resources who are daily attentive to protecting the good physical condition and tranquility of Colombian families.
