Illegal hiding place with war material belonging to the GAO Clan del Golfo was dismantled

In the course of military operations, framed in the Ayacucho Plan, troops of the Joint Task Force Marte, attached to the First Division of the National Army, found an illegal hiding place in the rural area of the municipality of Montecristo, south of Bolívar, belonging to the Erlin Pino Duarte substructure of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, which would have war material to carry out terrorist operations against the Military Forces and in turn hit the security of civilians.

 

The dismantled hideout contained more than 180 ammunition of different calibers, three explosive units and military accessory material for the exclusive use of the Military Forces, as well as communication equipment used for their criminal operations in this region.

 

The material found was put into custody of to the authorities, who will continue with due judicial process. The Joint Task Force Marte will continue to carry out operations to weakening the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo in the south of Bolivar, permanently countering its criminal operations that seek to intimidate civilians. It will in the same way contribute to the safety and well-being of the inhabitants of the South of Bolívar in the Colombian Caribbean region.
