Thanks to the work carried out by intelligence personnel and with the support of the community, Colombian National Army found in a wooded area of the municipality of San José del Guaviare, approximately one kilometer of a cattle trail, a barrel with war material that had been buried and that apparently belonged to members of illegal armed groups that commit crimes in the south east of Colombia.
Within the framework of military operations framed in the Ayacucho Plan, troops of the Rainforest Infantry Battalion No.19, attached to the Twenty-Second Rainforest Brigade of Colombian National Army and in coordination with the National Police, found an illegal hiding place in the village of Santa Rosa Alta, municipality of San José del Guaviare, which contained war material and military accessories, which could possibly be used to carry out terrorist operations against the Military Forces and in turn hit the security of the inhabitants.
In the place were found by troops 01 Revolver 38 mm, 01 traumatic pistol Ekol, 380 cartridges caliber 5.56 mm different lots, 180 cartridges 7.62 mm AK-47, 96 cartridges 9 mm, 13 bullets 38 mm, 01 metal magazine traumatic pistol, 01 metal magazine for M-4 rifle, 20 cartridges for traumatic pistol, 04 Kg of black powder, 04 green hammocks and 02 camouflage fabric.
The material was put into custody of the authorities, who will continue with due judicial process. With this type of operations, the criminal activity of criminal groups in this important region continues to be stopped.
