In the middle of the mountains of the municipality of Algeciras, department of Huila, a history marked by illegal recruitment and violence began to change. A young member of the Iván Díaz Front, of the Jorge Suárez Briceño Bloc, looked for the troops of the Mountain Battalion No. 9, decided to take a step towards legality and voluntarily surrendered to justice.
The woman known within the armed structure with the aliases of Tatiana or la Negra stated that she was a base member and that she stayed for about two years inside this illegal substructure.
According to his account, at the time of her presentation he was recovering from a rifle shot wound on the sole of his foot, an injury he reportedly suffered during the armed clashes reported in January 2026 conducted by members of the structures of the Second Marquetalia and the Jorge Suárez Briceño Block, in the village of La Abeja, of Guayabal, municipality of San Vicente del Caguán, department of Caquetá.
One of the aspects that caught the attention of the authorities is that the young woman has been reported missing since October 1, 2024, a situation that will now progress in the processes of reviewing her identity and restoring her rights.
After her arrival, the soldiers of the Mountain Battalion No. 9, unit a of the Ninth Brigade of Colombian National Army, provided him with first aid and immediate assistance, and initiated the corresponding institutional procedure, which will enable her to access the routes and benefits established by the national Government for those who decide to leave the ranks of the organized armed groups.
The Ninth Brigade of Colombian National Army reiterated that it will continue to carry out military operations in the department of Huila and neighboring areas, and invited those who still remain in illegality to go in the transition towards reintegration and build a new opportunity in civilian life.
