Gracias a la Acción Unificada del Estado, disponiendo de medios marítimos, aéreos y terrestres; la Fuerza Pública ha apoyado en el transporte de más de 1.720 toneladas de carga y ayudas humanitarias.
Luego de dos meses del paso del huracán Iota sobre el departamento Archipiélago, el Ejército Nacional, la Armada de Colombia, la Fuerza Aérea Colombiana y la Policía Nacional han puesto a disposición de la población afectada sus capacidades logísticas y de talento humano, con el fin de apoyar las labores de asistencia humanitaria y reconstrucción de las islas de Providencia y Santa Catalina.
En total son 1.005 hombres y mujeres de la Fuerza Pública destacados en el área, trabajando a diario y decididamente con el único propósito de estar “Unidos por el Archipiélago”, desarrollando labores de remoción de escombros, mejoramiento de viviendas, entrega de ayudas humanitarias, entre otras.
El Plan Renacer, una operación que ha contribuido en el mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de los habitantes de esta región insular del Caribe colombiano.
Gracias a las capacidades de las Fuerzas Militares de Colombia y de Policía Nacional se han transportado por vía marítima alrededor de 1.158 toneladas de carga y ayudas humanitarias, 562 toneladas por vía aérea y 108.011 litros de agua potable. Así mismo, se han transportado alimentos para animales domésticos, vehículos de maquinaria pesada, tejas, carpas, colchones y colchonetas a bordo de los buques, aeronaves y vehículos pesados, adscritos a la Fuerza Pública.
Este importante despliegue militar y logístico hace parte del plan de respuesta, de estabilización y recuperación del departamento archipiélago liderado por la Gerente de la Reconstrucción de las islas Susana Correa Borrero, el Gerente Gestión Local Lyle Newball y el Comandante de la Armada de Colombia Almirante Gabriel Alfonso Pérez Garcés, a quienes el Gobierno Nacional designó como los principales articuladores para llevar a cabo la Acción Unificada del Estado en la isla de Providencia y de Santa Catalina.
Cabe resaltar, que estas acciones de asistencia humanitaria, recolección de escombros, atención básica en salud, restablecimiento de los servicios básicos, agua, energía y telecomunicaciones, se han efectuado entre la Fuerza Pública en coordinación con la Unidad Nacional de Gestión del Riesgo de Desastre, UNGRD, la Cruz Roja Colombiana, la Defensa Civil, el Cuerpo Oficial de Bomberos y demás organismos del Estado de nivel regional y nacional que hacen parte del Sistema Nacional para la Prevención y Atención de Desastres, SNPAD.
La Fuerza Pública continuará contribuyendo al bienestar y la atención integral de las poblaciones isleñas en el departamento Archipiélago, a la vez que ratifica su compromiso poniendo a disposición todas las capacidades logísticas y de talento humano para aportar en la labor interinstitucional liderada por el Estado y la Unidad Nacional de Gestión del Riesgo de Desastres -UNGRD- en la reconstrucción de Providencia y Santa Catalina.

Thanks to the Unified Operation of the State, with maritime, air and land resources, troops of the Military Forces have supported the transportation of more than 1,720 tons of cargo and humanitarian aid.
After two months of the Hurricane Iota over the archipelago, the National Army, the Colombian Navy, the Colombian Air Force and the National Police have provided their logistical resources and human talent in order to support the humanitarian assistance and reconstruction of the islands of Providencia and Santa Catalina.
In total, there are 1,005 men and women of the Military Forces deployed in the area, working daily with purpose of being “united for the archipelago”. They have carried out debris removal, improvement of houses and distribution of humanitarian aid, among others.
The Renacer Plan (Rise Plan) is an operation that has contributed to the improvement of the quality of life of the inhabitants of this islands of the Colombian Caribbean.
Thanks to the resources of the Colombian Military Forces and the National Police, about 1,158 tons of cargo and humanitarian aid have been transported by sea; 562 tons by air; and also 108,011 liters of drinking water. Pet food, heavy machinery vehicles, roof tiles, tents and mattresses have been also transported on board ships, aircraft and heavy vehicles of the Military Forces.
This important military and logistical deployment is part of the plan for the stabilization and recovery of the archipelago, led by the Manager of the Reconstruction of the islands, Susana Correa Borrero; by the Manager of Local Management, Lyle Newball; and by the Commander of the Navy of Colombia, Admiral Gabriel Alfonso Pérez Garcés. They were designated by the National Government to carry out the Unified Operation of the State in the islands of Providencia and Santa Catalina.
It should be noted that these operations of humanitarian assistance, debris removal, basic health care, restoration of basic services such as water, energy and telecommunications, have been conducted by the Military Forces in coordination with the National Disaster Risk Management Unit (UNGRD), the Colombian Red Cross, the Civil Defense, the Fire Department and other State Agencies that are part of the National System for Care and Disaster Prevention (SNPAD).
The Military Forces will continue to contribute to the wellbeing and comprehensive care of the island's inhabitants. In the same way, they ratify their commitment providing logistical resources and human talent to contribute to the interagency operation led by the State and the National Disaster Risk Management Unit (UNGRD) to the reconstruct the islands of Providencia and Santa Catalina.
