Army distributes food to people in Cundinamarca and Tolima due to Covid pandemic 19

In order to continue working for the communities that need it most in the face of the Covid-19 contingency, the National Army, in coordination with public and private institutions, distributed 10 tons of food to vulnerable communities.

The soldiers of Comprehensive Action, through coordinated work with the Arturo Calle Foundation and public institutions, toured the municipalities and villages of Soacha, San Gabriel, Viotá, Nilo, Puerto Montero and Guamo to benefit the most vulnerable inhabitants with the distribution of 1,325 food baskets, 43,000 units of ice cream and 600 jars of powdered milk for children under six months.

It is important to remember that these communities have been hit in their economy by the mandatory isolation that seeks to prevent the spread of Covid-19, since last March 24, a situation that will remain in the country until April 27.

For her part, Marleny Bautista, a resident of the La Isla de Soacha neighborhood, said: "Thank you for everything you are giving us, for your help and for your helping hand in this sector where you can see a lot of poverty and need."
