The Colombian Aerospace Force, FAC, in coordination with the People's Representative for Human Rights of the District of Cali and the Governorate of Department of Norte de Santander, led the transportation of 600 kilos of humanitarian aid for families hit by the armed conflict in Catatumbo. The operation began in Cali, from where the supplies were taken to Bogotá and later to Cúcuta, aboard a Colombian Air Force C-130 Hercules aircraft, to finally be distributed to the Quinta Teresa Cultural Center, in the city of Cúcuta, thus reaffirming the institutional commitment to the most vulnerable communities.
The logistical route carried out in the FAC’s aircraft ensure the safe arrival of donations, consisting of products of the basic family basket such as rice, grains, oil and canned goods, as well as personal hygiene items. This joint effort managed to transport the aid in record time.
The beneficiary families, in a vulnerable condition, who received these supplies, found in this operation a show of solidarity that contributes to improving their living conditions and strengthens the social fabric in this area that has been facing various challenges due to the current situation of law and order.
In this way, the Colombian Aerospace Force, through the Comprehensive operation Section of both the Air Combat Commands No.1 and No.7, as of the Military Air Transport Command – CATAM-, reaffirms its commitment to working for the wellbeing of the most vulnerable sectors, reaching every corner of the country to provide hope to the villages that are being hit by the armed conflict.
