Joining forces for a cleaner environment: Success in environmental activity "I take care of my beach" in Turbo, Antioquia

cogfm-ejercito-nacional-proteccion-medio-ambiente-turbo-antioquia-24_0.jpeg

During four hours more than a ton of solid waste was collected, thus contributing to the preservation of the sea life of the beaches of the Urab谩 subregion.

In a joint and inter-institutional effort, within the framework of the Amazonas Plan, the National Army, the Government of Antioquia, the Navy, the Police, the Mayor's Office of Turbo and schools joined together to carry out the successful environmental activity I take care of my beach in the municipality of Turbo, in the department of Antioquia.

During this significant activity, more than a ton of solid waste, including plastic, polystyrene, cans, wood, glass and other non-usable elements, were collected with the aim of creating a clean and safe space for both local inhabitants and tourists, as well as for the specimens that are part of this valuable ecosystem.

The active participation and work by institutions and people in general was fundamental for the collection of these wastes, which do not belong to the coastal environment. These activities not only promote a healthier environment, but in the same way contribute to the care and protection of the environment, through cleaning, awareness-raising and organizational activities.

The commitment of this military unit is to continue leading cleaning activities in forests, urban, rural and marine and coastal areas of the Urab谩 subregion in the department of Antioquia and Choc贸. In the same way, efforts will continue to be coordinated among all the institutions involved to work for the protection and conservation of these spaces so important for biodiversity and the sustainability of the territory.
