The operation was carried out jointly by Colombian National Army, the Colombian Navy, the Colombian Aerospace Force, the Joint Special Operations Command, the Fourth Division, the Aviation and Air Assault Division, the Special Forces Division, the N.°2 Air Combat Command and the N.°22 Brigade, with intelligence of the Military Forces and the National Police.
Within the framework of an air interception and air assault operation, carried out in the village of Puerto Valencia, municipality of El Retorno, department of Guaviare, as troops reported the arrest of two members of the Martín Villa Substructure of the Amazonas bloc of the GAO-r, Mordisco faction; as well as the surrender to justice of two other individuals and the recovery of two minors, to whom the route of restoration of rights was activated immediately, in accordance with the institutional protocols in coordination with the authorities.
This operation resulted in the seizure of 30 long weapons, including 5 7.62 caliber machine guns, 10 handguns, an M-203 grenade launcher, five launching pads, 100 rifle magazines, 30,200 cartridges of different calibers, 40 mortar rounds, 13 drone grenades, 300 electric detonators and other war equipment, explosives, military accessories and communications that, allegedly, would be used to carry out terrorist acts against the inhabitants and the Military Forces in this region of the country.
In the framework of the operation, three of the soldiers were injured after the blast of an improvised explosive device. They are currently in the Central Military Hospital, stable and receiving specialized medical assistance.
The Military forces are conducting the military operation against these structures in a powerful and sustained manner throughout the national territory, in strict compliance with International Humanitarian Law and in defense of the security and tranquility of all Colombians.
