In the framework of joint, coordinated and coordinated operations to strengthen security in the extreme south of the country, the National Police, Colombian National Army, the Colombian Navy and the Colombian Aerospace Force are carrying out a joint action that led to the arrest in Leticia, department of Amazonas, of alias El Paisa, a former member of the Organized Gang Los Caqueteños.
The Colombian Aerospace Force contributed to the operation through its air resources with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance flights using unmanned aerial systems, as well as the timely analysis of intelligence information, which managed to mitigate the acts of criminal structures that take advantage of the convergence of the triple border to stimulate illicit activities.
The arrest of this crime actor contributes to fracturing the logistical nodes of drug trafficking in the river axis of the Amazon River, weakens the acts of criminal structures that hit regional security.
Through this result, the Amazon Air Group reaffirms its commitment to security, legality and the protection of the inhabitants, integrating its air and technological resources into inter-institutional work to counter illicit activities and preserve tranquility in the Colombian Amazon.
