In recent hours, troops of the Joint Task Force Omega found and destroyed, in the departments of Meta and Guaviare, three illegal hideouts with war material and communications.
The first action occurred in the village of San Isidro, rural area of the municipality of Mesetas, Meta, where the men of the Rapid Deployment Battalion No. 2, in development of operations, found the first hideout with three mortar grenades of 60MM and six kilos of explosive Anfo, in the middle of a wooded area.
Simultaneously, in the village El Placer, municipality of La Uribe, Meta, the soldiers of the Rapid Deployment Battalion N ° 1, found the second hideout with an R15 9MM rifle, three radios, four antennas for radio, a battery, a charger and an adapter of radio charger and two portable micro-speakers.
The war material was destroyed in the area by the men of the Exde group under controlled conditions and following the established protocols without hitting the civilian population and the troops. Meanwhile, the material that was not destroyed was put into custody of the Attorney General's Office.
Finally, in the village of Los Naranjos, rural area of the municipality of San José del Guaviare, in Guaviare, an illegal hideout was found with three antipersonnel mines, with which, according to information of military intelligence, it was intended to hit the Public Force deployed in the zone and the civil population that lives in the sector.
