This individual was apparently in charge of collecting money from extortions from merchants in the region, as well as coordinating the marketing of illicit substances in different municipalities of La Guajira.
Troops of the National Army, in coordination and inter-institutional manner with the police and the prosecutor's Office, dealt a decisive blow to the Organized Gang GDO Los Pachencas, in the rural area of Dibulla, in the Department of La Guajira. The alleged financial ringleader of this criminal organization died in the course of military operations.
The action took place in the wooded area of the municipality of Mingueo, and in the midst of the operation led by the National Army in this sector of the country. In the same way troops arrested in flagrante delicto five alleged members of this gang, who had in their possession small firearms and communication equipment.
Alias Cien Pesos, with five years in the GDO Los Pachencas, was apparently in charge of collecting money from extortions from hotel merchants in Maicao and Riohacha, as well as the person who allegedly coordinated the marketing of illicit substances in Dibulla and nearby places.
He would be involved with the forced conscription of men and women for this criminal organization. In the same way, this individual had an arrest warrant in force for the crime of association to commit crimes and aggravated extortion.
With this heavy operational result, the criminal logistical and financial framework of this organized gang that commits crimes in this area of the country is once again weakened.
The five arrested and the materials were put into custody of the authorities for judicial process.
