Through this result, the financial arm of the Hernando González Acosta group, belonging to the Isaías Pardo Central Bloc, is directly hit.
Thanks to the constant military operations of territorial control, soldiers of the 26th Cacique Pigoanza Infantry Battalion, of the Ninth Brigade, in coordination with the Anti-Narcotics Police of Huila, found more than half a ton of marijuana in the village Panorama, municipality of La Plata, west of the department.
The finding was made possible through a checkpoint on the I-37 highway, where members of the Military Forces made the stop signal to a van. The driver ignored and started to escape, abandoning the vehicle a few meters later.
After securing the area, the soldiers inspected the car, and found inside 1090 rectangular packages that, due to their color and odor characteristics, corresponded to marijuana. Later, it was confirmed that it was 541 kilos of the narcotic.
This illegal merchandise would have an approximate cost of 162 million pesos in the domestic market and 3246 million in the international market, which represents significant damage to the illicit activities of this organized armed group.
Through this important finding, Colombian National Army prevents more than 541,000 doses of marijuana from reaching the streets of Huila, contributing to the protection of public health and the strengthening of security in the region.
