Within the framework of operations aimed at combating illicit activities, the Colombian Aerospace Force, through the Air Combat Command No. 6, CACOM 6, in conjunction with the Colombian National Army, destroyed a potassium permanganate laboratory in Botadero village, municipality of Puerto Leguizamo, Putumayo.
A potassium permanganate laboratory, 267 plastic barrels, four shovels, two boilers, three storage pools and 5,558 kilograms of potassium permanganate were destroyed during the intervention. These results represent a significant loss to the structure that sustain illicit activities in this region of the country.
The destroyed construction was used by the Residual Organized Armed Group Comandos de Frontera as part of the supply chain of precursors for drug trafficking; this operation directly hits its logistical and financial resources.
