National Navy prevents trafficking of a cargo of hallucinogenic substances that would cost more than 12 million dollars
544 kilograms of marijuana and 296 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride were found by the Colombian Navy during two operations, at the time when individuals intended to send the substances from Buenaventura to Central America on board two ships.
The first operation took place in the Chamuscada sector of the Naya River, a rural area of the Port District, where troops of the Navy River Battalion No.24, attached to Navy Brigade No.2 of the Pacific Naval force, on board River units and guided by intelligence information, find the the cargo that would belong to the Residual organized armed group Structure 30.
The lobster boats were covered with plastic in the middle of a mangrove zone and were ready to set sail. Inside, troops found 15 bags containing 1,161 packages with narcotic substances, which, when conducting the initial preliminary test approved PIPH, resulted positive for 544 kilograms of marijuana.
In the second operation carried out in El Tigre sector, a collection center in the middle of a wooded area was found. Inside another 15 bags were found, and they contained 296 rectangular packages, which left positive for 296 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
The illegal merchandise would cost more than 12 million dollars, the boats and engins, were taken to the facilities of the river Battalion of Navy Infantry No.24, to be put into custody of the Attorney General's Office.
