Medical and humanitarian assistance activity strengthens well-being in Cereté, Córdoba department

Jornada de asistencia médica y humanitaria fortalece bienestar en Cereté, Córdoba

With the purpose of contributing to the well-being of the most vulnerable communities, the Colombian Aerospace Force, through the Air Combat Command No. 5, CACOM 5, carried out for two days an Activity of Medical and Humanitarian Assistance in the municipality of Cereté, department of Córdoba, benefiting inhabitants of the village of Severá and the village of Islas Blancas.

This activity was possible thanks to the coordinated work conducted by the Colombian Aerospace Force, Colombian National Army, the Mayor's Office of Cereté, the SOMER Foundation, the Professional Officers of the CACOM 5 Reserve, Laproff laboratories and the El Prado de Cereté hospital, who joined efforts to bring comprehensive care to communities with limited access to health services, especially hit by the wave of rains.

As a result of this activity, 496 people were benefited with 683 medical care consultations in different specialties, including general medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, dentistry, psychology, geriatrics and orthopedics, in addition to conducting medical procedures properly.

In addition, humanitarian aid was provided to vulnerable families, distributed in 224 food baskets, 122 toilet kits, 7 beds, 51 mattresses, 55 packs of diapers and 20 boxes of clothes, contributing to improving their living conditions.

These events reflect the institutional commitment to bring health services and social support closer to the villages that need it most, strengthening the State's activities in the territory and promoting the comprehensive development of the communities.
