During the last months, meetings were held with the Raizal people in the San Andrés archipelago. These sessions were fundamental to ensure that the voice of the people was heard in the process of transferring the military area of operations to the Caribbean Air Group.
The project aims to strengthen the constructions to improve the emergency response capacity. During the meetings, key details were discussed to ensure that the project benefits people and respects their vulnerabilities.
Different commitments were presented at the meetings. People requested that the military area of operations be named after Irving Howard, a great person who contributed significantly to aviation, in honor of his legacy.
These meetings led to an open and constructive dialogue, where the benefits of the transfer were highlighted, such as better air connectivity and the strengthening of the local economy.
