Member of the GAO Clan del Golfo surrenders to justice, in the Department of Chocó

Thanks to the permanent operation of the Military Forces against the organized armed groups, GAO, in the Department of Chocó, it was possible to obtain the voluntary surrender of a man apparently belonging to the GAO Clan del Golfo.

 

During a river control patrol over the Atrato River, conducted by troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.16, attached to the Joint Task Force Titan, near the municipality of Domingodó, a municipality of El Carmen del Darién, a 21-year-old individual expressed his will to leave the organization and look for the authorities.

 

The man known by the alias Samper had been four months in the Pablo José Montalvo Cuitiva substructure of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo that commits crimes in this region of the country.

 

For the judicial process, he was put into custody of the corresponding authorities.
