During an inter-institutional operation conducted by the Colombian Navy and the Attorney General's Office, it was possible to arrest an alleged member of an international network serving drug trafficking, which had been dismantled in an operation, in the same way conducted by the Naval Institution, days ago, in the department of Valle del Cauca.
During the recent operation, carried out in Locality 5, urban area of the Special District of Buenaventura, department of Valle del Cauca, troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), crew members of the Coast Guard Station of Buenaventura and personnel of the Technical Investigation Corps – CTI, arrested alias Lucho, who had an arrest warrant for extradition purposes, issued by the Government of the United States, for the alleged crimes of association to commit crimes and trafficking in illicit substances.
According to the investigations, this international network, apparently, had drug trafficking links with the residual organized armed group, GAO-r, Carlos Patiño of the FARC dissidents, as well as, with the Jacobo Arias western Bloc, with criminal interference in the departments of Cauca, Nariño and Valle del Cauca. This criminal network would be responsible for the construction of semi-submarines and the marketing of narcotics across the Pacific Ocean to get countries in Central America, North America and Europe.
This individual was taken in a Rapid Reaction Unit - URR, of the Coast Guard, of the Locality 5 of Buenaventura, to the facilities of the Servibuque dock, in the same way in Buenaventura, and was put into custody of the authorities, for their respective prosecution process.
The Colombian Navy will continue to carry out inter-institutional operations that led to the dismantling of structures at the service of drug trafficking that disturb the tranquility and comprehensive development of communities in the Colombian Pacific.
