The rifle ammunition was found in a rural area of the municipality of Puerto Lleras, Meta. By means of this finding, possible armed attacks in the department are stopped.
Within the framework of the Ayacucho Campaign Plan, Colombian National Army safeguards the security of citizens and combats the operations of illegal organizations that commit crimes in the region.
In an operation in the Tierra Grata village of Puerto Lleras, Meta, troops of the Infantry Battalion N. 21 and the Light Cavalry Group N. 6 made the finding of an illegal hiding place with war material.
This contained 18 rifle magazines, 1,022 rounds of 5.56 caliber ammunition and 71 rounds of 7.62 caliber ammunition. The site was reached thanks to information obtained through the intelligence section. Apparently, the material found would belong to the Residual Organized Armed Group structura Jorge Suárez Briceño, which commits crimes in the area.
