In the frame of the rains, with this operation the risk of an accident that would have caused the detachment of this material to the road was prevented.

Soldiers of the Engineer Battalion No.5 Coronel Francisco José de Caldas of the Fifth Brigade, Second Division, in coordination with the institutions of the committee of the Risk Management of the department, attended the call of the inhabitants and the mayor of Santa Barbara for the removal of rock material on the village, El Tope, in the department of Santander.

With meticulous work carried out at the top of the mountain, the authorities cleared large rocks that threatened to fall on the road, impairing mobility and putting at risk the life and good health condition of passers-by and inhabitants of the sector.

This coordinated work in the season where the constant rains are taking place in almost the entire department, leads to the mitigation and Prevention operations, preserving the life of the people of Santander.

The National Army invites the community to be alert and timely report to the authorities any situation that may generate a risk, and thus provide immediate support for events such as these in the region.
