In a joint and inter-agency operation, the Colombian Air Force, the National Army and the Attorney General Office found and neutralized two illegal laboratories where production of cocaine hydrochloride took place. It was a source of funding for illicit activities of the Organized Armed Group (GAO) Clan del Golfo.
One of the laboratories in La Floresta, municipality of Cumbitara, and the other in Ramos, municipality of Leiva, in Nari帽o, produced weekly about three tons of this substance. Through this operation, the finances of the substructure Cordillera del sur of the GAO Clan del Golfo were hit for about 16 billion pesos.
In the two operations, 3.3 tons of cocaine hydrochloride were seized, as well as elements for production, a large amount of liquid and solid inputs, machinery and equipment, including compressors, ovens, condensers, generators and barrels, valued at approximately 17 billion pesos.
