Military Forces and authorities search missing persons in Tumaco

Up to now, 14 bodies of people travelling on the boats have been found: 7 minors and 7 adults.

 

Units of the Colombian Navy in conjunction with the National Army, the Colombian Air Force, the General Maritime Directorate, the Mayor of Tumaco, the Civil Defense, the Fire Department with the support of the community, conduct the search of people who are missing after two boats shipwrecked when traveling on the Tumaco - San José del Guayabo maritime route.

 

Since last night, in a great interinstitutional effort with the community, different operations have been conducted to find the missing persons, achieving by this time to find and identify the bodies of 14 people: 7 minors and 7 adults.

 

To face the emergency, the District Risk Management Committee led by the Mayor's Office was carried out in the Port of Tumaco, where local authorities and community leaders participated, establishing commitments to clarify and continue with the rescue of missing persons.

 

For information, a single contact was appointed with the Civil Defense through the lines 3156160402 and 3206394302. Additionally, staff of the Secretary of Health will continue the accompaniment in the dock to provide support for the medical and psychosocial requirements of the injured individuals.
