Dredgers, excavating machines, engines and uselessness motor pumps are part of the result. Through this operation, 204 units intervened were completed during the year.
Within the framework of military operations of Colombian National Army, carried out jointly with the National Navy and in coordination with the National Police, the Infantry Battalion No. 12 Primero de Línea, of the Fifteenth Brigade, reported the intervention of 69 mining production units in the department of Chocó.
The operation was carried out in the village of Chintadó, municipality of Yuto, where the intervention of these hideouts and the destruction and disablement of the elements led to directly hit illicit activities, with losses in machinery estimated at approximately 5,000 million pesos.
Similarly, these operations prevented the monthly production of gold that generated illicit profits close to 15,000 million pesos, equivalent to the commercialization of 28,600 grams of the mineral.
During the operations tasks, it was possible to destroy and disable 27 engines, 22 diver-type dredgers, 10 excavating machines and 10 motor pumps, significantly weakening the process of illegal gold extraction and hitting the criminal structures that profit from this illicit activity.
This result of the military operation demonstrates the permanent commitment of Colombian National Army in the fight against the illicit exploitation of mining deposits, strengthening the institutional mission and weakening the structures that attack the safety and well-being of the inhabitants.
