cogfm-armada-colombia-neutraliza-campamento-de-entrenameinto-de-las-dosidencias-de-las-farc-en-timbiqui-cauca-26.jpg

In joint and inter-institutional military operations conducted by the Colombian Navy, the National Army, the Colombian Air Force and the Attorney General's office, in the Bocas De Patía sector on the Saija River, municipality of Timbiquí, Department of Cauca, a training area and military accessories belonging to the residual organized armed group, Gao-r, structure 30 Rafael Aguilera, were destroyed; two people were in the same way arrested, who would be in charge of guarding the place.

Thanks to intelligence information, it was possible to find this illegal camp which was used by the dissidents of the Farc, to recruit minors of the region and educate them against their will; in this place there were precursors and military accessories and propaganda so that it members coerce the other members of the community in order to force them enter their unlawful organization.

At the site, they found 300 meters of security fuse, 116 electric detonators, 04 sticks of pentolite type explosive, 40 uniforms for the exclusive use of the Military Forces, 100 meters of fabric for the manufacture of military accessories, abundant propaganda material alluding to FARC dissidents and more than 100 elements of military accessories such as boots, backpacks, multipurpose vests, magazines, among others.

During the operation, there was a firefight conducted by troops of the military forces and members of the aforementioned illegal group, without harming civilians from indigenous or Afro-descendant communities; a Navy man was lightly wounded, which is recovering satisfactorily.

Military operations on the Saija River and in the municipality of Timbiquí are carried out with full observance, implementation and respect for international human rights law and international humanitarian law with the transparency and the ethical conduct of the Military Forces.

In recent months, in the context of the operation carried out by the Military Forces against the residual GAO, structure 30, nine alleged members of this gang have been arrested, 14 firearms have been found, along with more than two tons of cocaine hydrochloride, three semi-submarine and a boat for the transport of narcotics, as well as more than 234 million pesos in cash from illegal income, a minor has been recovered and four individuals have voluntarily surrendered to justice.

With these results, this illegal group with interference in the Saija River has been severely undermined, counteracting its capacity to coerce the region ethnic communities, and weakening its intentions for expansion and alliances with other outlaw groups.
