Military Forces arrest five alleged members of FARC dissidents

In the rural area of the District of Tumaco - Nariño, troops of the Colombian Navy, with interinstitutional support of the Attorney General's Office and the Criminal Investigation Section - SIJIN (JUDICIAL POLICE), arrested five alleged members of the structures Bloque Occidental Alfonso Cano and Iván Ríos, of the Residual Organized Armed Group Segunda Marquetalia, significantly weakening the criminal operations of this group that commits crimes in the department of Nariño.

 

Guided by Naval Intelligence information, the Unified Action Group for Personal Freedom - GAULA (ANTI-EXTORTION AND ANTI-KIDNAPPING GROUP) de Tumaco, carried out four operations, in the Viento Libre, 11 de Noviembre, El Obrero and Plaza Nariño neighborhoods, where the five individuals were arrested in flagrante delicto. They were found by troops with six pistols, seven magazines, a Mossberg shotgun, 62 cartridges of different calibers and 17 million pesos.

 

One of the detainees is alias Choy alleged finance coordinator of the Residual Organized Armed Group Western Bloc Alfonso Cano.

 

The individuals, along with the material, were put into custody of the Attorney General's Office for the alleged crimes of manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.
