Within the framework of Operation Trueno, in the city of Popayán, the Military Forces arrested alias Pacho, accused of crimes such as homicide, manufacturing, trafficking in firearms and explosives. This individual would have coordinated the distribution of the explosives with which the Jaime Martinez structure of the FARC dissidents attacked civilians and the security forces in recent weeks in the municipalities of Suarez, Buenos Aires, Morales and Santander de Quilichao, in the north of the department that left as a result the death of people and the loss of schools.
In the same way, alias Pacho allegedly participated in the selective homicide of three people in the rural area of Cajibío, Cauca, in November 2022.
With this result, possible disturbances to law and order in the department of Cauca are significantly reduced. In the same way, the criminal logistics of the Jaime Martínez residual armed group, which operates in municipalities such as Suárez, Morales, Santander de Quilichao and Buenos Aires, Cauca, are weakening.
