Military forces arrested two individuals who were illegally transporting ammunition along the Pacific coast of Nariño

Fuerzas Militares capturaron a dos sujetos quienes transportaban munición de manera ilegal por el litoral Pacífico nariñense

The different military checkpoints carried out by the Joint Task Force for Stabilization and Consolidation Hercules in that region of the southwest of the country, led to this result of the military operation.

Within the framework of operations contemplated in the Joint Strategic Campaign Plan Ayacucho -Tiempo-2, units of the Joint Task Force for Stabilization and Consolidation Hercules, through a military checkpoint on the national highway N°10 that connects the municipality of Tumaco with the city of Pasto, Nariño, arrested two individuals, who were illegally transporting more than a thousand units of 9mm caliber ammunition for unknown purposes.

Thanks to a decisive work by the Rainforest Battalion N°53, who carry out military checkpoints permanently, on the village of Gualtal (Nariño), it was possible to intercept the car where two individuals were traveling and transporting the ammunition illegally.

During the search of the vehicle, the members of the Military Forces found a pistol, two magazines for a pistol and 28 boxes with 9mm ammunition equivalent to 1,400 units of ammunition.

The individuals were taken to the urban area of the municipality of Tumaco and put into custody of the Attorney General's Office, for their respective prosecution process.
