This important result came after the execution of simultaneous operations in this department.
In development of operation Agamenon, joint, coordinated by troops of the Mechanized Infantry Battalion No.4, the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Bolívar, the National Police and the Attorney General's office, simultaneously in the municipalities of Achí, Norosí and Tiquisio, in the south of Bolívar, three members of the Luis Fernando Gutiérrez substructure, of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, were captured. Alias Resorte, who conducted functions such as collection of money from extortion to civilians, is included in this group.
The important operation that led to the capture of these three people took place thanks to an investigation that was being carried out about a year and a half ago by the Attorney General's office and the intelligence work of the National Army. These individuals had an arrest warrant in force for the crime of association to commit aggravated crimes and aggravated extortion.
With the capture of these three alleged criminals it was possible to directly hit the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, a criminal organization that commits crimes in this region; in this way, troops counter the collection of money from extortion and reduce terrorist operations against civilians.
