In the course of a joint, coordinated and interagency operation conducted by the Colombian Navy, the National Army, the Colombian Air Force, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, in the municipality of Arauca, it was possible to capture three alleged members of the Terrorist Support Network of the Rafael Villamizar group of the Front Domingo Laín Sáenz.
One of the individuals, who was captured is alias Cenizo, suspected of being the ringleader of the urban crime groups in Arauca, who was wanted by the Specialized Attorney’s Office No.117 of Arauca for the crimes of aggravated extortion and association to commit crimes.
Alias Cenizo was in charge of carrying out criminal intelligence against members of the Military Forces; extort traders in the region; kidnapping; and invasion through intimidation with firearms.
This result was possible thanks to denunciations that specified the location of these individuals and the criminal activities that they were carrying out in the region. Alias Danilo and alias Pablo Ramón were also captured for the crimes of association to commit crimes, rebellion and aggravated extortion.
It is important to mention that this blow to this criminal group contributes to a better perception of citizen security and guarantees a peaceful live for the inhabitants of Arauca.
In this operation, communication equipment was seized and put into custody of the judicial authority.
