The events took place in the commune 11 of Buenaventura while two military operations were carrying out.
The operation of the Military Forces against the Organized Gang (GDO) Banda Local was overwhelming. In less than 24 hours, it was possible to capture four alleged members of this gang, during two operations that took place in different sectors of the commune 11 of the urban center of the Buenaventura.
During a joint, coordinated and interagency operation conducted by the National Army, the Colombian Navy and the National Police in the sector of Planta Barrio Cascajal, Commune 11 of Buenaventura, the troops arrived and captured in flagrante delicto three individuals: Brandon Ferney Su谩rez Valenzuela, alias Brandon; Edwin C谩rdenas Castro, alias Sisa; and Gustavo Victoria Bonilla, alias Monirry. At the time of the captures, a firearm sub-machine rifle type and two magazines with 21 cartridges were found.
These captured would be members of the Organized Gang Banda Local -commanded by alias Pollo- who were in charge of forced displacement, personal injury and homicide.
In a second operation carried out hours later in the same commune, in the Cascajal neighborhood, troops of the Navy Infantry Brigade No.2, of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) and units attached to the Pacific Naval Force, the Army and the police, observed two armed men, who noticed the presence of the authorities and tried to flee. Thanks to the rapid reaction of the military, they were captured in flagrante. They were 脕ngel Alexander Araujo Arboleda, alias Picachu, who carried a caliber 38 revolver-type firearm with four cartridges; and a 17-year-old man who had in one of his pockets four caliber 38cartridges.
Those captured would be members of the Organized Gang Banda Local, commanded by alias Negro, who were also in charge of forced displacement, personal injury and homicide.
Those captured were placed into custody of the Attorney General's Office to respond for their crimes.
This year, the Pacific Naval Force has captured 28 members of this Organized Gang.
