Members of the Military Forces have been beaten by criminal operations of organized armed groups. Our units have suffered from terrorist attacks, installation of anti-personnel mines, activation of explosive devices among others.

Since the promulgation of Law 1448 of 2011, a series of measures have been established for the assistance and comprehensive reparation of victims, which seek to exalt historical memory, the victims' right to the truth and the non-repetition of the victimizing acts.

For this reason, in different parts of the country, the Military Forces will hold military, liturgical ceremonies, wreaths, among other activities today in coordination of the civil authorities and the families, victims of the conflict.

According to searches, there are more than 433 thousand military victims who have suffered of the criminal and terrorist operations carried out by the different organized armed groups, which, through the indiscriminate use of explosives, unconventional weapons and attacks, have caused pain, suffering and death.

This April 9th, becomes an opportunity to highlight the courage of the military and police officers victims of the conflict, who put their lives and the good physical condition of their bodies at the service of the nation.
