In the region of Montes de María, where the municipality of El Salado is found, a great humanitarian activity will be held.
The National Government launched the Juntos por El Salado initiative, in which the National Army, the Colombian Navy and public and private institutions work and, together with the community of this municipality, they seek to conduct a great activity of humanitarian assistance in order to support these people.
Ana María Palau, Presidential Adviser for the Regions and godmother of the Acceleration Plan for the Comprehensive Activity for El Salado, commented that “the commitment to the region of the Montes de María is a priority for President Iván Duque and his entire government team. We want through this activity to achieve a social transformation of the territory from concrete operations to improve road infrastructure, the reconstruction of the social fabric and finally generate Resources, appropriation and opportunities in the community of the municipality”.
This project began with the arrival of soldiers, navy men and specialized navy men in working with communities, such as the Support Battalion of Comprehensive Action and Development No.1, NavyBattalion No.13 and members of the Military Forces of the National Police, men and women who are currently conducting meetings with community leaders, activities of cinema to the park, plan Buen Vecino, loudspeakers and maintenance activity to the basic primary school of the municipality.
Currently, the Military Forces are holding constant meetings with the Mayor of El Carmen, with the aim of working in coordination and being able to make the project a reality.
The Presidential Office for the Regions, the Colombian National Army and the Colombian Navy will continue to work during this month in different activities to contribute to the social reconstruction of this territory.
