Military Forces consolidate hard blows against extortion and common crime in Sucre

In the first six months of 2023, 131 alleged members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo and criminal groups have been arrested for extortion and other crimes.

 

Within the framework of joint and coordinated operations, the Colombian Navy through the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Sucre, the National Army and the National Police, through search warrants on real estate, neutralized de menace of an urban ringleader and arrested nine individuals in the municipalities of La Unión, Ovejas, San Benito de Abad and the city of Sincelejo in the department of Sucre.

 

In the La Guaripa sector, a rural area of the municipality of San Benito de Abad, upon initiating the search procedures on a building for the arrest of alias Marino, alleged urban ringleader of the Uldar Cardona Rueda substructure of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, this individual tried to escape and shot at the members of the Military Forces who reacted in the framework of military operations, for which he dies at the scene.

 

On the other hand, in the municipality of La Unión and Sincelejo, four individuals were arrested through search warrants, they are alias Bola, alias El Chinga, alias Diego and alias El Sordo, alleged members of the focused criminal component of the Uldar Cardona Rueda substructure of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, who must face charges of association to commit aggravated crimes for the purposes of extortion, drug trafficking and homicide.

 

In the last operation, in the urban area and rural area of the municipality of Ovejas – Sucre, five alleged individuals members of the Manuel José Gaitán substructure of this same illegal group were arrested, by means of search warrants, who must face charges of manufacture, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition, trafficking, manufacture or carrying of narcotics, violation of a minor under 14 years of age and induction into prostitution. At the time of the arrests, two 38-millimeter-caliber firearms, 20 38-millimeter-caliber cartridges, five cell phones, 56 doses of bazuco (crack) and cash were found by troops.

 

Those arrested in La Unión and Sincelejo, were put into custody of the Second Specialized Prosecutor's Office of Sincelejo; in the same way, the individuals arrested in Ovejas – Sucre were put into custody of the Ninth Sectional Prosecutor's Office of Corozal to continue with their prosecution.

 

It should be mentioned that, the permanent effort of the troops of the Military Gaula of the department of Sucre, in the first half of the year have led to the arrest of 131 individuals in the regions of the Gulf of Morrosquillo especially in San Onofre, the Subregion of the Montes de María, the Sabana Sucre, San Jorge,

 

La Mojana, among others, of which 72 have been alleged members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo and 59 alleged members of micro-trafficking groups at the service of the GAO Clan del Golfo in the department of Sucre.
