The Colombian Military Forces maintain the operation against the different generators of instability in the departments of Amazonas, Caquetá, Guaviare, Meta, Putumayo and Vaupés.

In joint, coordinated and inter-agency operations, the Joint Command No.3 South-East through its land, river and air components, continues to deploy all its Resources to strike and decisively destabilize the structures and finances of the residual Organized Armed Groups that commit crimes in the departments of Amazonas, Caquetá, Guaviare, Meta, Putumayo and Vaupés.

This year, the units of the Joint Command No.3 South-East carried out 85 arrests of individuals who were part of residual GAO, as well as organized common crime and groups that perpetrate drug trafficking.

In addition, it was possible to bring to justice 12 individuals, who voluntarily surrendered to our units in order to collaborate with justice and return to civilian life.

Counteracting the terrorist intentions of the GAO, it was possible to neutralize an illegal hideout with more than 2,000 anti-personnel mines and improvised explosive devices, in the rural area of Vista Hermosa, Meta; this material would have be used to attack the troops and the inhabitants in the region.

It is our priority to protect the Colombian people in the south-east lands, continuing decisively to conduct military operations, respecting Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law.
