This year, the Joint Task Force Aquiles has dealt 36 blows on the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, in this subregion of the Department.
Units of the Colombian Navy, attached to the Joint Task Force Aquiles, thanks to the permanent operation and the continuous territorial control operations, a member of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, was arrested in the Bajo Cauca antioqueño region.
The operation was carried out in a joint, coordinated and inter-agency manner with the National Army, the Air Force, the police and the prosecutor's office, in the municipality of Bijagual, in the municipality of Nechí.
Information was provided by the civilians, which pointed to the work of members of this criminal structure, and after a firefight against members of the substructure Uldar Cardona Rueda of this GAO, an individual is arrested.
In this operation troops found an M-60 machinegun, linked ammunition for it, as well as a 40 mm grenade launcher mortar and communications equipment.
These results weaken the logistical and armed subsystem, as well as the command and control of this criminal organization, which has been frightening the inhabitants of this region of the Department.
The military forces will continue to work tirelessly to achieve the dismantling of all organized armed groups that harm the security, tranquility and development of the inhabitants of Bajo Cauca antioqueño and Southern Córdoba, while ratifying its commitment to the safety of the inhabitants of the Cauca river and the nechí River.
