In the course of a coordinated operation conducted by units of the National Navy and the National Police in the urban area of Cartagena and Turbaco (Bol铆var), it was possible to arrest six individuals, including a woman belonging to the gang.
By means of searches of houses in different neighborhoods of the city of Cartagena, Carlos 脕lvarez aka Mono, Arnolfo Angulo aka Calvo, Jos茅 Le贸n aka Jose, Andr茅s Medrano aka Andr茅s, Kevin Mu帽oz aka El Al谩n and Melissa Pe帽a aka Melissa were arrested.
These arrests are obtained after investigations and follow-up carried out by the authorities, which made it possible to determine the criminal operations of that criminal structure, which is presumed to have committed different crimes, including firearms and drug trafficking, homicide and theft.
According to the investigations, these individuals were carrying out thefts in Turbaco, Turban谩 and on the roads that connect these municipalities. They were allegedly the masterminds of the murder of a member of the National Police on 7 December in Turbaco, Bol铆var.
The operation was carried out by troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Bol铆var, Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) 脡lite and the National Police, who complied with judicial orders issued by the 12th criminal court of Cartagena, Bol铆var, which at the same time conducts to the prevention of kidnapping and extortion plans in different parts of the city. Those arrested were given to the 15th Specialized Prosecutor's Office of Cartagena.
