In the village of Bazán Bocana, Military Forces deal a powerful blow to the organized gang Los Shottas
It is presumed that the four arrested had possible links with the Organized Armed Group - GAO-, ELN.
As part of the powerful operation against crime, the Colombian Navy, in a coordinated operation with members of the Military Forces of the National Police and inter–institutional with the Attorney General's Office, reported the arrest by court order of four individuals, and one more in flagrante delicto, alleged members of the Organized Gang -GDO- Los Shottas, in the village Bazán Bocana of the Special District of Buenaventura.
Military units attached to Navy Infantry Battalion No. 21, together with personnel of the Criminal Investigation Section –SIJIN- and the Technical Investigation Corps -CTI-, during search and military control of the area, found and arrested four individuals, who had a valid arrest warrant against them. Simultaneously, the authorities carried out the raid of two buildings, and, in one of these, the arrest in flagrante delicto of an individual and the confiscation of a 16-millimeter-caliber shotgun, a modified pistol, a magazine and a 9-millimeter-caliber cartridge took place.
According to intelligence information, these individuals known by the alias of Pacheco; Miguel or Miguelito, Cabeza or Cuarto, David or Aventura and Anderson, would belong to the GDO Los Shottas and apparently, they would have links with the Organized Armed Group – GAO-ELN, in charge of carrying out activities related to the collection of money from extortion, homicide, forced displacement and theft at sea against tourism and transport ships.
The arrested and the found elements were put into custody of the authorities, to face charges for the alleged crimes of association to commit aggravated crimes, aggravated homicide, forced displacement and illegal carrying of firearms.
