In the course of a joint humanitarian assistance operation, the Military forces evacuated 11 children belonging to the Jagual indigenous reserve of Chintadó of the Embera Dobidá village, in a rural area of the municipality of Riosucio - Chocó department, who were in a serious state of health because they presented symptoms of acute malnutrition, fever, vomiting and suffocation.

Thanks to the coordination conducted by the Colombian Navy, the National Army, the Colombian Air Force, the Emergency Regulatory Center - CRUE of the Department of Chocó and the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing - ICBF,  medical staff arrived in the municipality of Riosucio - Chocó department, in order to carry out in a timely manner the air evacuation of the minors to a higher level health center in the municipality of Turbo - Antioquia.

Military nurses monitored the minors during the flight, reporting them stabilized and then handed over to the ambulances waiting for them at the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.16 of the Naval Institution, in order to provide them with the necessary specialized medical assistance.

The Colombian Military Forces ratify their commitment to safeguard the life of Colombians in sea and rivers, as well as in the coastal areas of the country, with their human and logistical resources for the security and tranquility of Colombians.
