Military forces extinguish forest fire in the Serranía de La Macarena

The river of the seven colors, Caño Cristales, is in this natural sanctuary water tributary that reproduce aquatic plants which with exposure to the sun change their colors in a process that goes from Green to an intense red.

 

 

 

 

 

Military personnel of the National Army, the Colombian Navy and the Colombian Air Force, within the framework of disaster prevention and care, participated in efforts to extinguish a conflagration of 300 hectares of forest, in the sector known as Caño Piedras, in the Serranía (mountain range) La Macarena.

 

 

 

 

 

About 150 soldiers of the Rapid Deployment Force No.1 and 30 navy me of River Battalion No.32, arrived in the municipality Agua Azul of La Macarena, Department of Meta, to put out a fire that originated around 22:00 hours on March 20 of the current year.

 

 

 

 

 

The conflagration was controlled around 09:00 hours on Sunday 21 March 2021. The life and good living condition of 30 families in the region, made up of 120 people, including adults and minors of age, were safeguarded.

 

 

 

 

 

How this fire started is the subject of investigation by the environmental authorities.

 

 

 

 

 

The Omega Joint Task Force has all the resources for the preservation of water, biodiversity and the environment in the Colombian Amazonas region.
