Military forces find house with explosive devices in the department of Caquetá

Fuerzas Militares ubican vivienda con artefactos explosivos en Caquetá

More than 120 explosives and different elements were being prepared by the so-called Central General Staff to attack civilians and Military Forces.

Within the framework of control operations and institutional presence, framed within the Ayacucho Joint Strategic Campaign Plan -Tiempo 2- in the rural area of San Vicente del Caguán, Caquetá, the Military Forces found a house, which was used to store a large amount of explosives.

In Las Damas village, troops of the Omega Joint Task Force, together with the Prosecutor's Office, found 123 improvised explosive devices, 52 electric detonators, 50 means of launching, 100 meters of two wire cable, four kilograms of powder and two batteries.

According to the first information, these elements were being prepared by the Jorge Briceño Suárez Structure of the so-called Central Staff of the FARC dissidents to carry out terrorist operations against civilians, the Military Forces and critical constructions of the State, as they have already made menaced in the threats issued at the national level.

These devices were destroyed under controlled conditions by anti-explosive technicians of Colombian National Army, who arrived at the area by air to carry out the neutralization of the dangerous material.

The Omega Joint Task Force has been reinforcing the number of units with soldiers and navy infantrymen of the Caguán Specific Command, who strengthen security in this area, with the objective of providing security and well-being to civilians.
