In an ambulance, the Military Forces found ammunition, explosives and material of military accessories
According to preliminary information, this material would belong to the Residual Organized Armed Group, Structure 48, which commits crimes in this area of the south of the country.
In the course of territorial control operations, the Military Forces found more than 18 thousand units of ammunition, explosives, grenades, military accessory material and means of launching inside an ambulance that, apparently, would belong to the residual GAO, Structure 48, self-named Comandos de Frontera.
The action occurred on Route 45 in the municipality of Villa Garzón, Putumayo. There, members of the Military Forces of the Sixth Division of the National Army, with the support of the Police, found 18,444 units of ammunition of different calibers, electronic detonators, pentolite (explosive), gunpowder, several GPS, compasses, assault bags, rifle butts, military accessory material and machineguns inside the car. The authorities in the same way found 60 81 mm grenades and their mortar-like launching accessory.
The dangerous material, which would be used for terrorist operations against critical constructions, Security forces and civilians, was being transported by three individuals (two men and one woman) who apparently would be part of the terrorist support networks of that organized armed group.
According to what has been established, these individuals intended to take the weapons to the rural area of the municipality of Puerto Guzmán, Putumayo, where this illegal group has criminal operations.
The arrested and the war material were put into custody of the authorities for their respective prosecution process.
The military forces are conducting territorial control operations in the department of Putumayo, with the objective of working to raise the security and well-being of its inhabitants, as well as continuing to harm the logistical and criminal networks of the groups that commit crimes there.
