These explosive devices, apparently, were going to be planted by the Residual Organized Armed Group, Iv谩n R铆os front of the FARC dissidents, to attack the troops and civilians.

In the course of operations and territorial control, the Military Forces found an illegal hideout, which contained 11 anti-personnel mines. The incident occurred on the Alto Mira and Border sector in the village of El Progreso, a rural area of the municipality of Tumaco - Nari帽o.

The first reports indicate that the place would be conditioned as a prepared area and would belong to the Organized Armed Group, Iv谩n R铆os front of the FARC dissidents, which was hidden inside the undergrowth. The devices were buried in the sand with plastic bags, so that they would not be detected by the soldiers carrying out military operations throughout the department.

It should be noted that, in the last week, there have already been 34 anti-personnel mine-type explosive devices found by the troops of the Joint Task Force for Stabilization and Consolidation Hercules, on the border area with Ecuador, and in this way, it is protecting the lives of the different indigenous and peasant communities that live in the sector. In the same way, alert mechanisms have been established to help counteract these criminal operations used by these illegal groups.

After the finding, the explosive material was destroyed in controlled conditions by anti-explosive technicians of the Military Forces, in accordance with the stipulated security protocols and maintaining the necessary techniques and tactics to work for raising security in the area.
